What is Sex Trafficking?

Sex trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery in which individuals are forced to perform commercial sex acts through the use of force, fraud, or coercion.
Minors (anyone under the age of 18) providing sexual services in exchange for ANYTHING of value (money, food, transportation, a place to stay, clothing or accessories, cell phones, drugs, manicures, etc. (just to name a few) regardless of the use of force, fraud, or coercion
IS A VICTIM OF SEX TRAFFICKING!

Sex traffickers target victims and then use violence, threats, lies, promises of stardom, debt bondage, promises of love and affection or other forms of control and manipulation to keep their victims involved in the sex industry for their own profit. It's the exploitation and victimization of a fellow human being for financial gain!
You may be wondering, how Traffickers recruit people within the United States? Traffickers use two important tools to recruit: Deception and Manipulation. They recruit in schools, group homes, shopping malls, bus stations, churches and other locations. They will spend hours perusing different social media platforms using fake profiles to connect with teens often telling them what they want to hear or will even build a perceived romantic relationship with them in order to gain control.

Glen Reed, the creator of this video, has done an exceptional job showing teens the dangers of talking to, and trusting in people they meet online.
If you know a teen that continues to talk to strangers online, share this page with them so they will have a better understanding of how trafficker groom, manipulate and lie.
